The Jizera river is a beautiful river flowing through the Český Ráj (the Bohemian Paradise Natural Reservation). The stretch of the river from Spálov, through Malá Skála to Dolánky u Turnova is 20km and you can do it within one day.

Entrance Points
- Spálov: Parking area of the Spálov Hotel, next to the train stop. Boarding in the Kamenice river which intersects with the Jizera river.
- Obec Líšný: The most attractive boarding place (a former millrace) - you get extra two kilometres.
- Malá Skála, Labe: At the pedestrian bridge (the main road side), on the right riverbank near Pizzeria (abow the weir).
- Malá Skála, Vranové 1.díl: Near the Boučkův statek (below the weir), on the left riverbank.

Recommended Routes
Then we go on to the large Splzov weir that is marked as not-passable for canoes, however, experienced raft paddlers can safely manage it. If you do not feel like passing through it, or in case of low water level (quite often here) we portage the rafts to the water channel (a former millrace) which takes us to Líšný. After the portage no.3 (around 300m) we reach Malá Skála. As you can see, this part of the river is mainly suitable for well-equipped (with proper clothes &shoes) sporty people and it takes three hours or more.
If you are not experienced paddlers or just want to relax, the lower part of the river from Malá Skála to Dolánky u Turnova (10km) is the best option for you. You get two more kilometres starting in Líšný - Our base Rafting Jizera GPS: 50.6479264N, 15.2124786E There is no portage in this part, so even families with small children can really enjoy it. You sway a bit in the Malá Skála sluice and then just flow down the river. There are a few pubs on the way where you can stop and get some refreshments - Boučkův statek right in Malá Skála or Zrcadlová koza Restaurant a bit further. One more kilometre and you get to Dolánky u Turnova, the most popular exit point, which has a cozy newly-opened pub called Abelův mlýn. The train stop is not more than 300m far from the river.

Basic Info

- Departure from LISNY(our base) the route is 1.5 Km longer than from Mala Skala
- Safe and big inflatable rafts: COLORADO rafts with the capacity of 6 persons
- Good quality equipment: Paddles, lifejackets etc.
- Professional supervision A licensed watersport instructor - 1 instructor/group included in the basic price
- Thorough instruction before setting out.
- easy and safe route(not typical rafting)
- Start in Líšný (11km) with sliding down to the water - Recommended!!! (see the Virtual View)
- Exit point in Dolánky u Turnova (Dlaskův statek).
- Appropriate clothes: Depends on the weather. If it is sunny swimsuit (and our life jacket). Otherwise, warm spare clothes are higly recommended (we will bring it to you by car to the exit point).
- Shoes: Take slippers, sandals or water shoes. A spare pair of shoes is necessary! It is not advisable to go barefoot.
- Helmets? Take your cycling helmet! Everybody has one and it fits you best! (Recommendation for small children only).
How to get here?
If you do not go on your own, take the train. Perfect connection to Malá Skála and Líšný as well.
Price:
Includes full service: rafts, paddles, life jackets, transport of luggage to the exit point of your choice, a professional instructor and thorough instruction before setting out on safety, technique and cooperation on the raft. For several years, we keep our price on 230 CZK per person (starting from Líšný). In case of groups of 19 or more, teachers for free! For smaller groups, prices are negotiable.
